About Me

My Story

Welcome to my page! I’m thrilled to share a bit about myself and the journey that has led me here.

I am an educator with a deep-seated passion for teaching and guiding students towards their goals, a journey I’ve been on for over two decades. This passion sparked the creation of Focused Attention, a platform that has allowed me to extend my reach and make a significant impact on the lives of students and their families.

My background in psychology and guidance counselling has been instrumental in equipping students with the tools they need for success. Focused Attention is a testament to this, providing effective problem-solving strategies that bridge the gap between home and school.

Inclusivity is at the heart of everything I do. I’ve been actively involved in numerous community initiatives aimed at promoting education and inclusivity. With an extensive understanding of the challenges associated with neurodiversity, giftedness, ADHD, and Autism, I advocate strongly for the curriculum and social inclusion of all students.

As a parent, I understand the feelings of being overwhelmed and uncertain of the best actions or paths to take in supporting a child. My personal journey has allowed me to build a repertoire of lived experiences, which I’ve complemented with formal qualifications and accreditations. This unique blend allows me to empathize with the challenges parents face and offer effective, practical solutions.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me at my 18-acre hobby farm, a sanctuary where I practice sustainable and permaculture practices. Home to a variety of animals, it’s where I unwind and reconnect with my family and nature. I’m an avid reader and enjoy listening to captivating audiobooks while on my ride-on mower. I also volunteer as a crisis support worker for Lifeline and work with Veterans in various community capacities.

I have a deep love for meditation and yoga, practices that help me maintain balance and focus in my life. I am honored to have been nominated for the Australian Educator of the Year - Non-Government, a testament to my passion for inclusion and my extensive background in supporting gifted and talented students.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to connecting with you and continuing to make a difference in the lives of students, teachers, and families by promoting education and inclusivity.
